Reading
A fast, clean PDF reader for everyday use: open a document and just read, without toolbars in the way.
- Fast, smooth scrolling and zoom (buttons, Ctrl and mouse wheel, fit to width or page).
- Tabs: up to 10 PDFs in one window. Drag tabs to reorder; Ctrl+Tab to switch.
- Print exactly what you see, including your edits and comments.
- Light and dark themes that follow Windows, or choose your own.
Editing text
- Click a line of text and type. Press Enter to apply, Esc to cancel.
- Font matching: NonaPDF first tries the original font inside the PDF, then the same font if it’s installed on your PC, then a free look-alike with the same letter widths.
- Suggested free fonts are shown in their own style, with over 2,000 more to search.
- Text colour and background colour are picked up automatically.
- Add new text anywhere on the page. Undo with Ctrl+Z.
Comments
- Sticky notes, highlight, underline and strikethrough, in your choice of colour.
- Replies, so you can have a conversation on a comment.
- A comments panel lists everything by page. Click one to jump to it.
- Saved the standard way, so comments show up in other PDF apps, and comments made in other apps show up in NonaPDF.
Unlock
- PDFs that are restricted from editing, such as many bank statements, unlock automatically when you open them.
- PDFs that need a password to open ask for it once, then open as normal.
- It all happens on your computer. Nothing is uploaded.
Redact
- Drag a box over anything, or click a line of text, to black it out.
- When you save, the hidden content is removed from the file for good, not just covered over.
Protect
- Save a password-protected copy using AES-256 encryption, the strongest the PDF format supports.
- Choose whether people can print, copy text and images, or make changes once it’s open.
- Protected files open in any modern PDF app with the password.
Organise and combine
- See every page as a thumbnail. Drag to reorder, rotate, duplicate or delete.
- Add other PDFs or blank pages, then save one combined file.
- Extract selected pages into a new PDF.
On your computer
- Set NonaPDF as your default PDF app from the File menu (Windows asks you to confirm).
- Automatic updates in the background, with a choice of when to restart. You can turn them off.
- Works offline. No account, no sign-in, no adverts and no tracking.
